3 Solo Options. Opinions?
Our take
Hey!
So from the title, I am planning my first solo trip. I am 22 from the UK, and have a few options of dream destinations I am thinking of. I would like peoples opinions on each, and if they are good viable options. Budget is open pretty wide, hence included Aus etc.
First of which is Norway, specifically Tromso in the arctic circle, I have always had a thing of wanting to visit the north of Norway and see how its like etc.
The join first option is another favourite of mine, South Africa, specifically Cape Town. Moreso looking for the beach vibe, but also the private reserves etc that they have.
Third and final option is Australia, very long flight, however seems a beautiful country, just need to decide which city, or maybe do each one whilst I am there.
What is everyones opinions on each and any travel advice for a first time solo.

- First solo international trip – looking for recommendations! [26M, US, ~$3K budget]Hey everyone, Planning my first solo international trip and would love some input. I’ve traveled to Greece and Cancun with family but never gone out on my own, so looking for somewhere that eases me into it. What I’m looking for: - Lush, green landscapes and good beaches - Rich culture with things to explore - Easy to get around (solo-friendly) - Solid nightlife that’s safe and accessible - Budget around $3K, flexible if the destination warrants it If you’ve been somewhere that fits, I’d love to hear: - How you got around - What you did / highlights - Any scams or safety tips for first-timers - Whether you’d go back Based in Texas, so open to anything. Shorter flights are a bonus but not a dealbreaker. Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/EndPieceofBred [link] [comments]
- Solo trip to lofoten Norway July 2026I’m a 24 y/o female from Chicago looking to plan a solo trip to lofoten for the last week of July and seeking any and all recommendations. I was planning on flying into Oslo and then renting a car in Bodo and spending about a week there before making my way to Copenhagen/ Sweden and flying home from there. Midnight kayaking, a Rib boat tour, and a few hikes are the current items on the bucket list. Also-Is lofoten a good solo destination? I saw a few hostels but they seemed quite small so im not sure on the feasibility of meeting new travel friends vs purely having a solo week of me time submitted by /u/Only_Cucumber_8673 [link] [comments]
