3 Week Croatia Travel Itinerary
Our take
Planning a three-week honeymoon in Croatia is not just a travel itinerary; it's a vibrant adventure waiting to unfold! The excitement of exploring breathtaking landscapes, indulging in local cuisine, and immersing oneself in rich culture speaks to the heart of wanderlust. Our fellow traveler, u/Batman_16, is inviting comments and suggestions on their carefully crafted itinerary, which takes them from the historic walls of Dubrovnik to the serene beaches of KorÄula. This journey highlights the essence of travel in the modern age: the importance of community input and shared experiences. It echoes the sentiments found in other travel discussions, such as those in āUrgent help needed-Someone has taken my cabin luggage at Heathrow and is in Kenyaā and āUndecided between Punta Cana all-inclusive, Isla Mujeres or Porto de Galinhas ā Help us choose!ā, where travelers seek guidance from their peers.
Croatia has become a hotspot for honeymooners, and for good reason! With stunning coastlines, charming towns, and delicious food, itās a playground for those with a sense of adventure. u/Batman_16ās itinerary showcases a blend of relaxation and exploration. Spending three nights in Dubrovnik allows time to wander the ancient city walls and soak in the panoramic views, while a stay in Stari Grad offers a chance to unwind at a resort. The addition of Hvar Town and the Istria region promises vibrant nightlife and culinary delights. Yet, as the author notes, the routing may not be the most efficient. This is a valuable lesson for travelers: sometimes, itās about the experiences each destination offers rather than strictly adhering to the fastest route. The joy of travel lies in the unplanned moments and the stories that arise from such decisions.
The itinerary's appeal also lies in its inclusivity. By inviting suggestions and restaurant recommendations, u/Batman_16 fosters a sense of community among fellow travelers. This is reflective of a broader trend where travelers are increasingly valuing shared experiences and recommendations from like-minded explorers. As we see in recent discussions, such as those in our article āMorocco, Spain and Portugal - Jan-April 2026ā, the quest for authentic experiences drives a new sense of connection among travelers.
Looking toward the future, itās essential to recognize that travel is more than just a checklist of sights to see. Itās an opportunity to engage with the world in a meaningful way, to make connections, and to create memories that last a lifetime. For those embarking on their own adventures, like u/Batman_16, itās a reminder that the journey is just as important as the destination. How will the evolving landscape of travel influence the way we plan and share our adventures? As we continue to navigate these experiences together, letās embrace the vibrant, adventurous spirit that travel brings to our lives!
Hello!!
We are traveling to Croatia for our honeymoon this upcoming September.
This is our itinerary. Thoughts/comments/encouragement/suggestions all welcome!!
If you have any restaurant suggestions please let me know!!! Thank you.
3 Week Itinerary:
Dubrovnik - 3 nights
OmiÅ” - 2 nights
Stari Grad - 3 nights (resort relaxation)
Hvar Town - 3 nights
Istria region (likely Rovinj) - 3 nights
KorÄula - 4 nights
Split - 3 nights
Edit: We realize itās not the most efficient routingātaking a ferry to Hvar and back to Split, then driving all the way up to Istria only to return to Split again for a ferry to KorÄula. We were able to secure a great non-refundable rate at a hotel in Stari Grad, so we had to work around this in our itinerary. Iām

- 6 day Croatia Itinerary - Split to DubrovnikHi everyone, my significant other and I are traveling from the US to Croatia in May for a week. We are flying into Split and out of Dubrovnik. No particular travel pet peeves or special focuses we have; we like history, food, nature, relaxation. We arenāt on a really tight budget but not ultra high end travelers either. I am happy to drive a car if needed and can drive manual, but it seems for our trip ferry may make more sense. Given our limited timeline, we donāt want to squeeze too much in though I know this will be a decent amount to tackle. I was told this itinerary would be doable from people who have been before, it seems consistent with some guides Iāve seen online, and Iāve tried to read through as many Croatia posts in r/travel as I can, but I wanted to ask if anyone had feedback! Split 2 nights, Hvar 2 nights, Dubrovnik 2 nights Sun 5/10 land in Split midday; walk around, tour palace; sleep in Split Mon 5/11 Krka day trip? Or just hang out in Split; sleep in Split Tue 5/12 morning catamaran to Hvar; hang out in Hvar Town; sleep in Hvar Wed 5/13 boat / island tour / biking; sleep in Hvar Thu 5/14 morning ferry to Dubrovnik; sleep in Dubrovnik Fri 5/15 morning walk the walls; sleep in Dubrovnik Sat 5/16 fly out of Dubrovnik 6:30am Re: Hvar, I know other islands like Korkula sometimes are recommended but I figured shoulder season hopefully means crowds arenāt quite as bad on Hvar, and it was just highly recommended by friends who went recently; but we're flexible! I assume cutting Split down to only one night would be too short particularly with jetlag even though my impression is that we should maybe prioritize other spots. Krka sounds wonderful but I do think it would be a lot to try to squeeze in. submitted by /u/Sagnolshmooly [link] [comments]
- Croatia travel recs for coupleHello going to Croatia in few months and have this general itinerary planned so far- Dubrovnik ā> Korcula ā> Hvar ā> Split/ plitvice Going with bf both early 30s range. We love to eat, walk around / explore, want to try the best acitivies in area and are open to whatever is unique and best to do in Croatia. We drink but would not want to really party more try cool relaxing spots. What was most memorable parts of Croatia when others went in terms of restaurants, cool bars, beautiful nature, areas to walk and explore and fun activities submitted by /u/Necessary_Loss_6769 [link] [comments]
- Croatia itinerary doable?I booked a flight to Croatia for 12 days where I land at 4pm in Dubrovnik and fly out at noon so this gives me 10 full days. I don't really have crazy expectations just booked it on a whim, but my logic here is to immediately go to Split from Dubrovnik on arrival day and work my way back to Dubrovnik. So far on my tentative list I have - Split - Hvar - Dubrovnik - Plitvice - Kotor - Mostar I recognize that's a lot and looking to see where I can optimize day trips and also relax or potentially shave time on certain things. I'm pretty well traveled so getting around is not an issue and I'm not a budget traveler so I'm ok in what appears to be pretty overpriced (relatively) places like Old Town Dubrovnik and Hvar. I'm just looking for relaxing beaches, good food and beautiful scenery as I like to photograph. So any recommendations for like overlooks or spots to capture great photography are appreciated. I'm a pretty youthful late 30s so while I'm not trying to party like a 20yr old I'm fine with a little bit of going out and I know Croatia can be big on nightlife so as long as it isn't the equivalent of a college bar I'm ok with nightlife recommendations as well. Does it make sense to go from Split on down? Looking for any advice. Thanks! submitted by /u/Szimplacurt [link] [comments]
- Thoughts on our honeymoon itinerary?Hello! We'll be taking a ~3-week honeymoon this September (maybe into early October). A bit about us: We enjoy walkable cities/towns with nice parks/green spaces, beaches, good food, coffee, wine, and cocktails! We prefer going to a nice wine bar or chill bar/lounge over a club. Right now we're for sure want to go to France and Spain, but are deciding between Italy and Portugal. Here's our rough itinerary: Fly into Paris for 4-5 nights (have been here before) Take the train to Cassis for 3 nights If we choose Italy: Fly to Milan for 3-4 nights Take the train to Bologna for 3-4 nights Fly to Barcelona for 3-4 nights (have been before) Take the train to Valencia (3-4 nights) Fly home (either from Valencia or travel back to Barcelona) If we choose Portugal: Fly from Cassis/Nice to Barcelona Take the train to Valencia Fly to Libson (4-5 nights, have been before) and likely take a day trip to Cascais. Fly home (Southern California) Also open to other city recommendations! Thanks! submitted by /u/tayyylooor [link] [comments]
