Our take

Hey, adventure seekers! If you’re gearing up for an epic six-week backpacking trip through Europe, you know the right footwear is essential for all those city strolls and local hikes. You’ve got your Merrell Moab Speed 2s for hiking and flip-flops for the beach and showers, but now you need a stylish, packable sneaker that can handle endless pavement adventures. Are Sambas the way to go? Let’s dive into some sneaker recommendations that will keep you comfortable and looking fab on your journey!

I'm going to be backpacking through europe this summer for 6 weeks, mostly doing city related activites with a few day trips and moderate, local hikes. Im trying to limit how much stuff I bring since ill be carrying it all on my back. Im going to invest in some good hiking shoes, likely merrell's moab speed 2s. and I have some slim flip flops Ill use on the beach and as shower shoes.

Im looking to bring a third pair of shoes but I dont think my converse will hold up. I want some good, packable, street-style sneakers that will tolerate a LOT of walking on pavement of all kinds. Are sambas any good? I need recs.
