A quiet morning walk at Seonamsa Temple in South Korea

Our take

Imagine starting your day with a peaceful morning walk at Seonamsa Temple in Suncheon, South Korea, a historic Buddhist haven nestled on Jogyesan Mountain. This UNESCO World Heritage site radiates tranquility, where the only sounds are the gentle flow of water, birds chirping, and the whisper of the wind through the trees. One of the highlights is the stunning Seungseon Bridge, elegantly arching over the clear mountain stream, creating a serene and timeless atmosphere.

I recently visited Seonamsa Temple in Suncheon, South Korea.

Seonamsa is a historic Buddhist temple located on Jogyesan Mountain and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage site “Sansa, Buddhist Mountain Monasteries in Korea.”

Early in the morning the temple was incredibly quiet. The only sounds were flowing water from the valley stream, birds in the forest, and the wind moving through the trees.

One of the most beautiful places there is Seungseon Bridge, an elegant stone arch bridge crossing the clear mountain stream. Standing there, the whole place felt calm and timeless.

If you're curious about the atmosphere, I filmed a slow walk through the temple with only natural sounds.

I filmed a slow walk through the temple with only natural sounds so people could experience the peaceful atmosphere there.
