Advice needed - Itinerary French Riviera
Our take
Hi everyone!
I’m planning a trip to the South of France for late June/early July and would love some advice. Ideally I’d rent a car so I can move freely along the coast and stop in different towns. I may be going solo, as some friends are hesitant.
What I’m looking for:
- Beautiful beaches (lots of them)
- Walkable towns with scenic views
- Some history/cultural visits
- Safe for a solo traveler
- Relaxing, peaceful overall vibe
I’ve never been to France before. I’ve heard mixed opinions on Marseille for solo travel, so I’m unsure whether to include it. If I rent a car, I’d love to do a continuous coastal route with nice stops along the way. I'm even thinking of landing in Paris and taking a car from there... Thoughts?
Open to any recommendations for towns, itineraries, do's and dont's, or just hearing about your experience! Thank you in advance :)
EDIT: I'm also open to picking a base and taking the train/bus to different areas! I realized that's what most people do.

- Cote D'Azur - France ItineraryHi! I was just hoping on some thoughts on my itinerary for May. We really like strolling through old towns, nature, good food (but not too expensive), gardens/infrastructure etc., and we wanted to do one boat ride as well as some kayaking/adventuring/hiking by the coast, good food. We are going to be in the area for 8 days. We will be based out of Nice and taking the bus/train everywhere, but are not opposed to renting a car for 1-2 days. We have 2 days not listed on this itinerary and were wondering if it would be a better idea to split up some of the towns or add more as we have received conflicting opinions on how time we need to spend in some of these areas. Currently we have the following: *Nice *Villefranche + Cap-Ferrat *Eze + Beaulieu *Antibes → Sun Market (optional: + Juan-les-Pins/ Cap d’Antibes - boat / Plage de la Garoupe) *Menton (optional: + Saint Anges) *Monaco + Roquebrune *Saint-Paul + Tourrettes I would also love any recommendations on good deals for 7-8 day passes for transit that may be available/used for similar itineraries. - Planning a trip to France in June or July for 10 days! Recommend we place to visit?Hey guys, I am planning a trip to France. I am coming from the Netherlands and my first stop would be Paris and then head towards Normandy spend few days here and also visit the Étretat. I was wondering if Nomady is the right place to go in early June to early July? On my search for things to do everything looks nice but Will it be too crowded? Is there anything else you think we should do our 10 days trip? Me and my husband are trying to plan n idyllic relaxing trip after all the stress we had in past few months. So, anything chill and considerably easy to reach by a car or train, we are up for it. Thanks in advance submitted by /u/Confusedmind75 [link] [comments]
- One week in Paris 🇫🇷 needs an advice 📅It is my first time in Paris. I want to see most iconic places in Paris and also have some relaxation in small countryside cities (nature/garden) 🪴. Departure from the airport and destination to Amsterdam 🚊. Note: solo traveler’s using public transportation 😎 I have done some quick research and asked few people here in Reddit. I came with the following plan: Day 1&2: stay in Paris. Day 3: Giverny & Monet's garden (day trip) then stay the night in Paris. Day 4: Strasbourg (day trip) Day 5: Countryside day trip or further Paris exploration. Day 6: leave paris to Lille and stay the night their (use direct train) Day 7: leave Lille to Amsterdam (use direct train) Is it a good plan? Any modifications suggestions? 🙏🏻 submitted by /u/Automatic_Anybody934 [link] [comments]
