Airport Adventures with a Healing Foot: Norway Bound!

Hey there, adventurer!

3 min readtravel

Norway bound and ready for an epic adventure! Flying out from Indiana to Kristiansand, Norway, on May 27th, it's a journey packed with excitement – and a little bit of a challenge. This amazing trip involves a 15.5-hour ordeal, flying from IN to MSP, then CPH, and finally KRS. But here’s the twist: while the spirit of adventure is soaring high, my foot is still on the mend from surgery. The big question on my mind is how to navigate the airports with a recovering foot. I can walk, but it's a super slow, video-game-injury kind of limp, and I don't have a wheelchair of my own. How do I manage with a carry-on and these long layovers? It’s a puzzle, but I’m confident we can find some sun-drenched solutions!

Seriously, even with the foot situation, the excitement for Norway is absolutely glowing! I'll be there for about two and a half months, which is perfect for letting my foot heal and embracing all the incredible experiences that await. The layovers themselves aren't ridiculously long, so it's all about smart planning and keeping that positive energy up. Think of it as a mini-adventure within the larger adventure! We've got this! The goal is to make every step, even the slow ones, feel like part of the main character journey. This is all about embracing the unexpected and turning a potential hurdle into a chance to get creative and show just how unstoppable we can be when we dream big.

So, let's channel that inner entertainer and brainstorm some airport survival tips! The key is to remember that even with a bit of a limp, the spirit of exploration is what truly matters. We can reach out to the airlines beforehand to inquire about any assistance they can offer, like a wheelchair service to help navigate those long concourses. It’s all about making sure the journey is as smooth as possible so the adventure in Norway can truly begin without any extra stress. This is our chance to prove that a little bit of recovery time doesn't dim the desire for epic experiences. Let's get this Norway adventure started, one positive step at a time!

I'll be in Norway about 2 and a half mos so I'll heal a lot between now and then but how am I going to get around at an airport?? I don't have a wheelchair of my own nor do I even know how that'd work with a carry-on. I can walk, but horribly slow. Imagine injured in a video game kinda limp.
