Guys, I’m going to Italy next month (June) and since the trip came up last minute, I still have a lot of questions. 😬
The initial itinerary would be:
12th: departure
13th to 16th: Rome (3 nights)
16th to 21st: Amalfi Coast (5 nights)
21st to 23rd: Capri (2 nights)
23rd to 29th: Puglia (6 nights)
29th: return
1) Do you think this number of days for each place is reasonable? Or should I increase or decrease any of them?
2) Is it worth including Matera and/or Ischia?
If so, as a day trip or staying overnight?
If staying overnight, where could I cut days to fit them in?
3) On the Amalfi Coast, is it better to stay in Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi, or Praiano? Or should I split the stay between two bases? Which ones?
4) In Puglia, I’ll most likely split the trip into two bases. Which ones would you recommend?
5) In your opinion, what’s the best way to get around within each place?

We like beaches/beach clubs, beautiful scenery, cultural immersion, walking around charming town centers, good restaurants, and some nightlife (bars or even a little clubbing).
We want to avoid stress (if possible lol).

- Italy: Palermo vs Amalfi Coast vs PugliaCiao a tutti. I'm travelling to Southern Italy with a few friends from early to late August. Spending a few days in Rome and a few in Naples, but for the next stop we can't decide on Palermo, Amalfi Coast, or Puglia. I've heard that Palermo is a great base and that it's a good place to experience local culture, nightlife as well as lots of pretty beaches surrounding it. I've heard similar things about Puglia except that the nightlife and "picturesque" aesthetic is a bit dampened. Is Amalfi worth it? It would be great to see because it's so close to Naples but I've heard so many negative comments about how expensive and crowded it is. - Best time to go to Italy???Okay need some advice... We’re planning a trip to Italy and wanna do Amalfi Coast and Rome. The main thing we’re excited for is Amalfi....like beach clubs, swimming, boat rides, all of that. But we also wanna spend some time in Rome and explore. At first I was like obviously summer… but now I keep seeing people say August is insanely hot and “unbearable”. I don’t mind heat if we’re at the water, but I’m more worried about Rome and walking around all day in the heat. Is it actually that bad or are people being dramatic?? We're looking at September but it looks more expensive, and I’ve seen mixed things about the weather. October seems cooler which sounds nice for Rome, but I feel like it might take away from the whole Amalfi beach vibe. However, if September really IS the best month to go, we will go with September. Just trying to see if it's absolutely necessary to spend the extra $$$ to go that month. So basically: is August actually miserable or still worth it? does Amalfi feel fine since you’re by the water? what would you pick between August, September, or early October? - Italy Places to visit around Almafi that aren’t over crowded late JuneHi everyone! I’m planning a trip to Italy for late June and would love some advice from people who know the area well. We are a group of 4 (2 couples) and are in our late 20s. We fly into Florence and fly out of Rome. We plan to train south to attend a wedding in Puglia. So, we’re looking for suggested places to stay for 5 nights in between Florence - Puglia. Right now I’m considering places like Sorrento, Procida, Ischia, and Salerno. Would love to be close to the ferry to see the Almafi Coast from the water. Also open to great hidden gems as well!
