Americas or Asia? A Travel Dilemma for Seasoned Explorers.

Are you torn between exploring the vibrant landscapes of Central America or the stunning mountains of Central Asia?

This is such a fun dilemma to have, right? You've been soaking up all the amazing vibes of Southeast Asia for a year and a half, and now you're heading back to Canada for a visit. While you're on the other side of the world, the travel bug is whispering about adding another epic adventure to your plate. It sounds like you're craving a change of scenery before diving back into Asia, and that's totally understandable! Guatemala and El Salvador are calling your name, and honestly, who can blame you? Think of the incredible colors, the vibrant cultures, and the chance to explore new horizons. It’s a fantastic opportunity to inject some fresh energy into your travels.

But then, there's that other dream adventure twinkling on the horizon: Central Asia! Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan – just saying the names sparks a sense of wonder, doesn't it? This is a journey that promises ancient Silk Road tales, breathtaking landscapes, and a whole different kind of exploration. If you opt for the "Stans," you're looking at a more extended trip, giving you ample time to truly immerse yourselves. It's a big decision, for sure! Balancing a shorter burst of adventure in Central America with a longer, more in-depth exploration of Central Asia is a classic traveler's puzzle.

Here’s the thing: both options are absolutely brimming with potential for incredible experiences. If you're feeling the pull for a quicker, yet still super vibrant, change of pace before heading back to Asia, the Guatemala/El Salvador route sounds like a winner. Imagine soaking up that sunshine and discovering new corners of the world together! But if you're feeling the call of something truly grand and have the time to dedicate to it, the Central Asia trip is an opportunity you won't want to miss. Ultimately, trust your gut and what feels most exciting for your squad right now. Whatever you choose, it’s bound to be an epic journey!

My husband and I have been living in and travelling around SE Asia for the past 1.5 years. We’ll be headed back to Canada this summer to visit friends and family. While we’re in the Americas, I’m tempted to do a Guatemala/El Salvador trip for a change of scenery travel-wise since we’ve been in Asia for so long and will be headed back to Asia again.

However, on the other hand, we’ve also talked about doing a trip to Kazakhstan/Kyrgyzstan/Uzbekistan sometime next year.
