Avis rental through Costco Travel

Our take

Hey there! I recently rented a car from Avis through Costco Travel at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport and opted for the skip-the-counter feature. While I've had great experiences with Alamo, Avis offered a much better price. I joined the Avis club and entered my flight details but was curious about how they notify me upon landing. I found that the Avis app should inform me of my car model and spot, but I couldn't locate my flight info in the app. Has anyone experienced this?

Hello!

I rented a car at Avis through Costco Travel at DFW airport in Dallas. I am primarily interested in skip-the-counter. I usually rent through Alamo and I have skipped the counter dozens of time with them but never with Avis. Avis was much cheaper than Alamo. I joined the Avis club, made the reservation and entered my flight information.

I googled skipping the line with Avis; it says "Upon landing, you will receive a notification in the app indicating your car model and spot number."

How does it know when I land? I looked in the Avis app and my reservation is linked, but I don't see my flight information anywhere.

Does anyone have experience with this? Should I be worried? I know Avis doesn't have the best reputation. Will this work?
