Beef Jerky carry on? AUS -> USA

Our take

Hey everyone! I’m about to embark on an exciting journey from Australia to the USA tomorrow, and I have some unopened beef jerky that I’d love to take along as a snack. I’m curious about the rules regarding bringing dried meat in my carry-on. Can I keep it unopened until I land, or do I need to finish it before arriving? Also, what if I open it during the flight? Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help! 🙏

Hey everyone, not sure if this is the best subreddit to ask in forgive me if its not, but I'm heading to the USA tomorrow from Australia and I have some packaged and unopened beef jerky left over in my cupboard and I was wondering if I'd be able to take that on my carry on as a snack? Not sure what the rules are exactly for dried meat and wanted to ask, do I have to make sure I fully eat it before I land? Am I allowed to have opened jerky by the time I land? Thanks in advance 🙏
