Bergamo's Charm: A Relaxing Escape to Italy's Hidden Gem

Oh, Bergamo! What an absolutely epic adventure this turned out to be. We’ve been dreaming of that Italian sunshine, and this little gem delivered pure magic. Imagine arriving by train, that classic European travel vibe setting the mood, and then hopping on a bus that whisks you up, up, up to the breathtaking Citta Alta. Staying right there, in the heart of the old city, meant every single view was a postcard waiting to happen. We’re talking ancient buildings that whisper stories of centuries past and panoramic vistas that just make you want to soak it all in. The energy was incredible, a perfect blend of chill vibes and vibrant Italian life.

Our main mission for this trip? Pure, unadulterated relaxation and exploration. No rigid itineraries here – just the freedom to wander, discover, and of course, indulge in all the delicious food Italy has to offer. And Bergamo? It nailed it! Every corner turned revealed something new and exciting, from charming little piazzas to winding cobblestone streets. Even a quick trip down to Citta Bassa via the funicular was a fantastic addition to our adventure, adding another layer to this incredible city. It’s moments like these, where you can just be present and enjoy the journey, that truly make you feel like the main character.

This whole experience just radiates positivity and encourages you to embrace the moment. It’s a reminder that sometimes the best adventures are the ones where you let go of the plan and just follow your curiosity. Bergamo’s charm isn't about grand pronouncements or exclusive experiences; it's about the simple joy of discovery, the warmth of the sun on your skin, and the feeling of being part of something beautiful. It’s the kind of place that fills you with energy and inspires you to keep exploring. We left feeling refreshed, inspired, and ready for our next big adventure, carrying a little bit of Bergamo's sunshine with us.

From travel

Had a lovely few days in Bergamo. Arrived by train then took the bus to Citta Alta. We stayed in Citta Alta so all photos are from there.

Citta Alta has beautiful buildings and amazing views. We had no plan other than to relax, wander around and eat good food and Bergamo delivered on all fronts.
