I'm a fairly broke college student who really, really needs a vacation. My friend and I would like to visit California for about a week. We are from the East Coast and looking for a change of scenery. That being said, what city should I visit? Here's some criteria/info:
- We would be 21 at the time of the trip
- Walkability is big. We like to avoid spending money on Uber/Lyft.
- We like to eat everything and anything
- We love the beach
- We enjoy a good club/party scene for nightlife
- We really enjoy museums and cool shops

- LA vs San Francisco, San Diego OR SOMETHING ELSE ENTIRELYHey guys! Hope you're well Solo traveler here, and am trying to pick out 2 cities in the US, between late July/ early August, that would be quite enjoyable to visit and do lots in! (Within 4 days) So far, I've chosen New York (NYC) and California (still deciding on the city!) But nothing is set in stone and I'm seeing lots of positive things about Chicago - but wondering whether I should replace that with New York City as I have heard they can be quite similar THINGS TO NOTE: EUROPEAN, CANNOT DRIVE - Would love a walk able place! Quite flexible with anything, would appreciate a place that would shock me, like a true slice of Californiaa (or any place) Love a good beach and weather Bussing nightlife Friendly people! Delectable food, thank you Added bonus points for diversity! But really not picky at all - open to suggestions!!! Thank you, and have a good one! Cheers x submitted by /u/_246810 [link] [comments]
- San Francisco versus San Diego tripmy boyfriend and I are planning on going on vacation September 4 through September 9. At first, I was only considering going to San Francisco. I wanted to go visit Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge, the painted ladies, and go to a Giants game. But I have been seeing a lot of videos about San Diego, It looks so beautiful. I’m not sure if it would be more expensive to visit San Diego. I do think going to the beach one day would be nice, but I don’t know if you can do that in San Francisco. We went to SoCal last year, Laguna Beach, Malibu Beach, and Santa Monica. I want something different than that trip, but I do think a day at the beach would be nice. I also would prefer not to rent a car and would rather Uber everywhere. submitted by /u/Electronic_Value7210 [link] [comments]
