China Eastern asking for physical credit card at check-in?

Our take

Hey everyone! I’m reaching out with a concern about my upcoming flight with China Eastern Airlines. I booked my ticket using PayPal linked to a virtual debit card, but I don’t have a physical card to present at check-in. I came across their policy stating they might require the payment card for identity verification, and I’m worried this could lead to ticket cancellation or boarding issues. Has anyone faced a similar dilemma? I’d appreciate any insights or experiences you can share. Thank you!

Hi everyone, I have a question and I’m a bit worried about my upcoming flight.

I booked a ticket with China Eastern Airlines and paid through PayPal, which is linked to a virtual debit card (no physical card exists). The card is in my name and I can see it in my banking app, but I don’t have a physical card to present.

I read in the airline’s terms that they may ask to show the payment card used for the booking to verify the identity of the cardholder. If this request is not complied with, China Eastern Airlines reserves the right to cancel the ticket or deny boarding.
Has anyone been in a similar situation and had issues boarding?
Thank you in advance!
