Do you ever feel melancholic about absolutely good food you tried during travel because you might not be able to eat it again (at least in that kind of quality)? What meal was that?

Our take

Do you ever find yourself feeling nostalgic about unforgettable meals from your travels, wishing you could relive those culinary experiences? For instance, after a work trip to Morocco, I savored the most incredible seafood tajine, leaving me longing for that same quality again. Just recently, I enjoyed a memorable seafood soft tofu soup in a cozy Seoul restaurant during a snowy day, and a gelato in San Gimignano that was worth a 40-minute drive.

I just came from a work trip in Morocco and had the best seafood tajine ever. And I feel sad I won't be able to eat that in the same level of quality again. I brought home 2 canned tajine sardines, I ate one today and now I feel lonely that only have one left.

In Seoul last year, it was snowing and I entered this small, discreet restaurant that only served soup. I had the absolute best seafood soft tofu soup with a bowl of white rice. I've been chasing that soup by eating in different Korean restaurants around where I live and it's unmatched.

A few years ago, I had this marvelous gelato in San Gimignano. It was so good that we drove 40mins each way, lined up for an hour, just to get it a second time during that trip. I don't think I'll be able to eat that gelato again.

Do you have stories of great food from your travels you'll always remember and somehow give you melancholic feelings?
