Ooh, an anniversary trip for December 2026! How exciting is that?! Planning a special getaway for you and your partner sounds like the ultimate adventure, and we are totally here for it. You’re dreaming up a 7-day trip with a $6k budget, no little ones tagging along, and a sweet spot for both the great outdoors and buzzing city vibes. Plus, you’re not really about the big party scene. That’s a fantastic starting point!

Let’s dive into your initial ideas. NYC in December is pure magic! Imagine twinkling lights, cozy coffee shops, maybe even a bit of ice skating in Rockefeller Center. It’s got that incredible city energy you love, plus tons of world-class museums and incredible food to explore. You could definitely fill 7 days with unforgettable experiences, from strolling through Central Park (even in winter, it has its own charm!) to catching a Broadway show. For outdoor activities, think about winter markets or even a brisk walk along the High Line. It’s an epic choice that screams "main character energy" for your anniversary!

Now, Disney World in Florida for 4 days is also a classic, especially if you’re looking for that resort experience. The holiday decorations at Disney are legendary, and there’s a certain kind of sparkle that only Disney can bring. However, with a 7-day trip in mind and a desire for a mix of city and outdoors, a shorter Disney stay might feel a little… contained. While it’s undeniably fun, it might not offer the full spectrum of adventure you’re after, especially if you’re looking to balance city exploration with nature.

Considering your love for both city life and outdoor adventures, and that December timeframe, let’s think outside the box a little! What about a trip to Denver, Colorado? You get the vibrant city scene with amazing restaurants and culture, plus you’re right at the doorstep of the Rocky Mountains! You could spend a few days exploring Denver’s cool neighborhoods and breweries, and then dedicate the rest of your time to some breathtaking hikes or even a scenic drive through the mountains, perhaps with a stop in a charming mountain town like Breckenridge or Estes Park. The air is crisp, the scenery is stunning, and it offers that perfect blend of urban excitement and natural beauty. It’s an adventurous, soul-glowing option that feels both energetic and restorative. This could truly be an epic anniversary celebration, full of sunshine and unforgettable memories!

My partner and I (both in our mid twenties) are wanting to plan a 7 day trip for December 2026. Budget would be around 6k for everything including airfare and lodging. No kids, just us two. We’re not big party people. We like outdoor activities, but we also enjoy being in the city. Right now I only have two rough ideas: NYC or Disney World in Florida. If we go to Disney World we would only be there for 4 days because I’d like to stay at a resort and that would use up a good chunk of our budget.…
