Emergency and Railways

Our take

I recently faced my first ticket cancellation experience while traveling from Jalgaon to Nashik. I had booked a 3 PM journey in 3rd AC for a total of 1,040 rupees. However, due to an emergency, I had to cancel my tickets at 7 PM the day before. I received 660 rupees back, but 380 rupees were deducted as a cancellation fee. I’m curious if this is the usual process for ticket cancellations or if I encountered something unusual. Your insights would be greatly appreciated!

I had tickets for tomorrow 3pm from Jalgaon to Nashik. Total 3 hour journey and 3rd AC reservation.

Total paid rupees 1040

Yesterday, due to emergency, canceled tickets at 7pm. Got 660 back, 380 deducted as Cancelation fee.

Was this normal. It was first time Cancelation experience for me
