Europe offbeat recommendations

Our take

Hey everyone! Are you dreaming of a getaway to Europe’s hidden gems? I’m on the hunt for sleepy, quiet towns that capture that moody, old-world charm reminiscent of the film *In Bruges*. Planning a 9-day trip in July, I’m looking to relax and disconnect after a hectic work period. I’m not interested in the typical tourist spots; instead, I crave peaceful, atmospheric places where I can unwind and recharge.

Hey everyone,

Looking for some recommendations for sleepy, quiet towns in Europe. The kind of moody, old-world atmosphere you get from the film In Bruges.

I’m planning a 9 day trip in July focused purely on relaxing and disconnecting after a long stretch of burnout at work. Not really interested in ticking off sights or doing the usual tourist circuit, just need to be somewhere peaceful, atmospheric, maybe a bit melancholic, where I can slow down and clear my head. I’ve already travelled quite a bit across Europe, so I’m hoping for slightly offbeat or lesser known suggestions. Open to any and all recommendations, small towns, villages, coastal spots, mountain hideaways, anything that fits the brief.

Thanks in advance :)
