First flight abroad? That’s an absolutely epic adventure waiting to happen, and we’re here to help you make it the most comfortable and exciting journey possible! Stepping onto a plane for your first international trip is a huge, thrilling milestone, and it’s totally normal to feel a mix of excitement and a little bit of nerves. Madrid is calling, and we’re going to make sure your flight from Toronto is less of a dread and more of a launchpad for all the amazing experiences ahead. Think of this flight not as just travel time, but as the opening act to your Spanish adventure, filled with potential for discovery and fun! We’re all about embracing the new and turning any challenge into a chance to shine, so let’s get you prepped to conquer those 7.5 hours with energy and a smile.

When it comes to making that flight as comfy as possible, let’s talk seats and essentials! For an overnight flight, snagging a window seat can be a game-changer, giving you a little personal space to lean against if you decide to try and catch some Zzzs. However, if you’re someone who needs to get up and stretch frequently, an aisle seat might be your best bet for easy access. Consider bringing a travel pillow that actually supports your neck – it can make a world of difference! And to keep your mind occupied and your spirits high, pack a portable charger for your devices, a good book or some downloaded podcasts, and maybe even a journal to jot down your thoughts and pre-trip excitement. Think of your carry-on as your personal adventure kit, stocked with everything you need to stay entertained and relaxed.

And about sleeping on overnight flights – it’s a personal thing! While some find it tough, others manage to get some decent rest, especially with a few tricks up their sleeve. Try to create a cozy environment: wear comfy clothes that aren’t too tight, maybe bring an eye mask and earplugs to block out distractions. Even if you don’t sleep the whole way through, a little rest can help you arrive feeling more refreshed and ready to dive headfirst into Madrid! Remember, this is your first big international trip, an opportunity to create incredible memories. Embrace the journey, stay positive, and know that every moment, even the ones spent in the air, is part of your grand adventure. You’ve got this, and Madrid awaits your unstoppable energy!

Apologies if this is rather unnecessary as my flight isn’t that long compared to what a lot of you have done, but on May 1st I’m flying to Madrid from Toronto which is around 7 1/2 hours? This will be my first time leaving North America and the farthest flight I’ve done is about 5hrs to Los Angeles, which, as a 6”4 guy was quite uncomfortable. The flight will be an overnight one but I’ve heard it’s a bad idea to sleep on these?
