Flying with medication in 2026
Our take
Planning a two-week overseas trip this summer is exciting, but managing your medications can feel overwhelming! Traditionally, carrying original bottles has been the go-to for security checks, but it can take up valuable packing space. Many travelers opt for pill organizers instead, but it’s wise to have backup documentation. Consider taking photos of your medication labels and keeping a digital list on your phone, complete with dosages and emergency contacts. With the right preparation, you can focus on the adventure ahead and enjoy every moment!
2 week trip this summer.. I have always carried meds in original bottles for flights in case security personnel has concerns. but that's a lot of meds and it takes up a lot of room. what have others done? I'm looking at a 2 week pill organizer, but then should I carry photos of labels? my phone app has a list and dosages and doctors numbers in case of emergency. it's more for security that I'm just wondering what I should be planning for. haven't done an overseas trip this long in a few years and I'm on quite a bit more medication than I was previously. sucks to get older...
