Hey adventure seekers! So, you're dreaming of Sardinia, and the journey itself is becoming part of the epic quest, right? It sounds like you're weighing up a super important decision for your travel to the island paradise: Frankfurt or Milan for your layover. Let's dive into this with all the energy and positivity we can muster, because every step of the adventure counts, especially when it's about making sure your Sardinia dream kicks off without a hitch!

Choosing your European hub is like picking your starting point for a treasure hunt. Frankfurt might be calling with an $800 savings – that’s a pretty sweet deal and definitely sparks joy for any budget! But the clock is ticking with a 1 hour and 55-minute connection. We know that feeling of wanting to maximize every second of your trip, and sometimes a tighter connection can feel a little… well, stressful. The good news is, with business class from the US, you'll be off the plane like lightning! We’re all about embracing the unknown and finding the best way to navigate it. Think of it as a mini-adventure within your bigger Sardinia adventure!

Now, let's talk about that airport hustle. Getting through deplaning, passport control, and then the baggage carousel dance – it's all part of the game. While we can't guarantee specific timings (every day has its own magic!), knowing you're in business class gives you a fantastic head start. The key is to stay optimistic and prepared. If Frankfurt is the choice, imagine it as a brisk, exciting sprint towards your next flight. If Milan offers a more relaxed 3.5-hour layover, that’s like a leisurely stroll, giving you more time to breathe and maybe even snag a delicious Italian snack. Ultimately, both options can lead you to that Sardinia glow. It’s about finding the vibe that feels most like *your* adventure!

Wife and I are traveling from EWR to Sardinia in mid June. We need to fly on United Airlines into a European hub and then switch to a different carrier to fly from said European hub into Sardinia. So this will require collecting our checked bag from United and rechecking it with a regional carrier. I’m trying to decide if we should make that hub Frankfurt or MXP. Frankfurt would be $800 cheaper between the two of us, so I’m inclined toward that, but is a tighter connection (1 hour 55 minutes).
