Getting off at a stopover (Auckland)

Our take

Hey there, fellow adventurers! 🌟 If you’re considering a stopover in Auckland on your journey from JFK to Sydney, it’s an exciting opportunity to explore a bit before heading to Queenstown! By opting for a domestic flight from Auckland, you can save a whopping seven hours while soaking up some Kiwi vibes. Just remember to check your baggage situation, as you’ll need to manage that yourself since your return flight is on a separate itinerary. Let the adventure begin! ✈️✨

I am taking QF 4 JFK-Sydney then Sydney to Queenstown

I just realized the flight has a stopover in Auckland so thinking of getting off at Auckland and getting a cheap domestic flight to Queenstown to save 7 hours.

My return flight is booked separately (on the same airline but different itinerary) and I’ll carry on my baggage.

Anything stopping me from doing this?
