Greece with kids

Our take

Planning a family adventure to Greece sounds like a dream come true! With your daughter’s enthusiasm for cats and your son’s love for history and mythology, Greece offers the perfect backdrop for unforgettable memories. Since summer is your only option, consider exploring vibrant islands like Mykonos and Naxos, where you can enjoy beautiful beaches, bustling towns, and delicious local cuisine. These islands provide plenty of opportunities for walking, dining, and soaking up the sun, ensuring a fun and engaging experience for your entire family!

My 6yo daughter is DYING to go to Greece. Granted, a lot of her opinion is about how many cats her grandparents saw roaming the streets when they went 6 months ago and that’s quite appealing to her 🫠. Regardless, my husband and I would love to go too. Our older son would be obsessed with the history and mythology of it all.

Unfortunately summer is really our only option (mid June- early September). We would fly direct into/out of Athens. What islands would you recommend with kids? Based on other trips we’d probably want to spend 2-4 nights in each location. Athens is the least appealing honestly. Our kids love the water, boats, *cats*, and just walking around various places. Busy towns are a must. We prefer to stay in places we can walk to various restaurants, ice cream places, etc. Quiet is not our jam 😅. We’re happy to stay anywhere from cramped Airbnbs to 5* hotels. Location for us is key. Beaches good for elementary aged kids would be great. Amazing food/drink within walking distance though is #1 priority. Thanks!!
