Haad Yao or Thong Nai Pan Noi
Our take
Hello!
My boyfriend and I are planning our 2 week trip to Thailand in May 2026 and doing the following route:
3 nights Bangkok
2 nights Koh Tao
3 nights Koh Phangan
3 nights Koh Samui
2 nights Bangkok
We cannot decide where to book for Koh Phangan and the two areas we are most "stuck" between is the Haad Yao / Salad area and Thong Nai Pan Noi, as these are the two areas which seem to come back recommended the most on Google and AI.
From what we’ve researched so far Haad Yao / Salad seems better for having more going on nearby and easier access to the rest of the island, whereas Thong Nai Pan Noi looks like it has much nicer (almost 5★) accommodation, but seems quieter and a bit more remote.
Has anyone stayed in either (or both) and can share their experience, please?
Would you prioritise location/convenience, or the higher-end resort vibe?
Of a day we are mostly looking to relax at the beach and explore some of the Island; then of a night have a nice dinner and drinks afterwards.
Thanks

- Okinawa? Thailand?Hi. I have two weeks in October, me and my partner are trying to decide between the two. Thailand is my dream destination but we went to Tokyo last year for only 5 days (airline benefits 😅) but felt disappointed with our short-lived experience and want to go back to Japan. But we are also really interested in exploring Bangkok/Koh Samui/Koh Tao. We were looking into going back to Japan and also flying to Okinawa after spending a week at one of the major areas on the mainland (for shopping, food, etc.) probably not Tokyo as we did that already. We really can’t pick between the two, and two weeks isn’t enough for both🤣. Background info, we love swimming/snorkelling/beach and are Canadian. Also been to Hawaii and Nice, France and we absolutely loved the ocean. Thoughts? submitted by /u/Fresh-Fan-1835 [link] [comments]
- 2 Weeks in Thailand in June - Where to go?I’m planning a 2-week trip to Thailand in early June and would love some advice! I’ve already been to the Gulf islands (Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, and Koh Tao), so I’d prefer to explore different parts of the country this time around. Ideally, I’m looking for: -A mix of culture + relaxation -Somewhere scenic/nature-focused -Beautiful beach -Options that aren’t too heavily impacted by rain (if possible in June) Where would you recommend for a 2-week itinerary? Is Koh Kood worth the trip in June, or should I consider somewhere else? I appreciate any suggestions on great spots—thanks in advance! submitted by /u/Delicious_Bowl_5082 [link] [comments]
