How does this itinerary look for Mexico City?
Our take
I am going to Mexico City in one month. So excited for the trip but I am really having serious paralysis by analysis with planning the trip.
Day 1 - Arrive 2pm, check into hotel, relax, go out to eat somewhere
Day 2 - Centro Historico, Zocalo, Palacio Nacional, Palacio de Bellas Artes
Day 3 - Teotihuacan tour
Day 4 - rest day, walk around, eat, maybe see some live music or something
Day 5 - Xochimilco and Coyoacan
Day 6 - Bosque de Chapultepec and Anthropology Museum
Day 7 - Tolantango full day tour (maybe?)
Day 8 - check out the mercados (if it hasn’t already been done on an earlier day)
Day 9 - Depart
I think the Tolantango tour might be really cool but from what I’ve read it isn’t really a “must see.” I do like the outdoors and I live in a big city so might be nice to get out of the city.
Does anyone have thoughts on this? I am just curious because this is my first real international trip. I’m excited but a bit overwhelmed
Also, I speak decent Spanish but here in the US I haven’t had many opportunities to practice speaking. I would love to become more comfortable speaking Spanish on the trip. I can understand and read it very well

- Trip in Latin America this JulyHi all! I (19M) am going to be doing an exchange semester in Mexico city this Aug-December. I’m from Ireland and I want to make the most of my time while I’m there. I’m not sure if I’ll get much time to visit neighbouring/ other latin american countries while I’m there, so i want to take a trip beforehand. I have three main ideas currently but flight prices keep fluctuating and my mind keeps changing. The first is to fly from dublin to lima in the last week of july and spend 9 days there and then get a flight to cdmx. I’d rather go to cusco and climb machu pichu but i dont have the time or money for that just yet, so I might skip that. The second is to fly to medellin and spend a week there and then take a flight to cdmx. the next idea I have is to fly to guatamala city in the middle of july, spend maybe a week in guatamala before i cross the border into belize, spend some time in belize and then try and make my eay to chetumal in mexico, where I will then get a domestic flight to cdmx. does this sound doable to anyone in a 2 1/2 week span? or am i being optimistic? - Help me - Is this too much to my Mexico trip? (itinerary)I will arrive at 2/6. I have 17 days. was thinking in spend 3 days in CDMX, then going to Oaxaca and Puerto Escondido for 6 days. After, take a flight to Cancun and spend 1 week in Tulum/Playa del Carmen/Cancun, taking one day to visit Chitzen Itza by tour leaving Cancun. Is this ok? - México, Belize, Guatemala Itinerary RecommendationsHi everyone, I’m currently planning a trip to central america in november 2026 and would love to get some feedback on my current itinerary. For reference: I am m/25 and would like to mainly sleep in hostels. I have some experience from backpacking SEA and would love to experience similar vibes here and there. 1. Does this route make sense logistically? Are the travel times between cities realistic? Is it too stressful?
