I spent two months in China cycling 2,000 kilometers through the inner country. Feel free to ask me any of your China related questions!
Our take
I embarked on an epic two-month adventure cycling 2,000 kilometers through the heart of China! My journey took me through vibrant cities like Beijing, Xi’an, and Chengdu, and stunning landscapes in Jiuzhaigou Valley and Zhangjiajie. I experienced the charm of rural Chinese life while cycling between Datong and Luoyang, although I did have an unexpected detour when I was briefly detained in a military zone.
I visited Beijing, Datong, Luoyang, Xi’an, Chengdu, Jiuzhaigou valley, Taihang Grand Canyon, Chongqing, Zhangjiajie, Guilin, and Guangzhou, and much more.
I cycled from Datong to Luoyang so saw quite a bit of scenery between them and enjoyed a lot of rural Chinese life. And I cycled from Zhangjiajie to Guangzhou, although I got detained mid way through for cycling in a military zone and was forced to take a train around a rather large restricted zone.
Feel free to ask any questions you might have on traveling there and where to visit!
Overall, I had an incredible experience in China and I strongly recommend it.
