Iceland Adventure: Camper Van Road Trip Through the South
South Iceland Road Trip -no Greenland-

Get ready for an epic adventure! We're diving headfirst into a South Iceland road trip, and let us tell you, it was pure magic. Imagine this: a camper van, your cozy home on wheels, cruising through landscapes that feel like another planet. That's exactly what our friend RoyalChillblog did, and we're so here for it! Renting a 4x4 camper van might seem like a simple choice, but it unlocked a whole new level of freedom. No hotel bookings, no restaurant reservations – just you, your van, and the open road. It’s the ultimate way to embrace the spirit of adventure and truly immerse yourself in the wild beauty of Iceland.

Even though there were a few bumps in the road (literally!), like a tricky first night with a stubborn heater and a bit of wind, the rewards were absolutely incredible. Waking up to a thundering waterfall with rainbows dancing in the mist? That’s the kind of unexpected joy that makes travel so special! From the explosive geysers of the Golden Circle to feeling the raw power of walking between tectonic plates in Thingvellir, Iceland keeps you on your toes. And the South Coast? Driving along Route 1 felt like stepping onto a movie set, with jaw-dropping waterfalls like Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss (yes, you can walk behind them!) around every corner.

But the absolute highlight, the place that truly stole the show, was Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. Picture this: a serene lagoon filled with shimmering icebergs, the air filled with the gentle sounds of birds and the crackling of ice. It’s a moment of pure tranquility and awe. This trip wasn't just about seeing amazing sights; it was about embracing the journey, the unexpected challenges, and the pure, unadulterated joy of discovery. If you're dreaming of an adventure that's both bold and breathtaking, Iceland in a camper van is calling your name! It's an unforgettable experience that will leave you feeling energized and ready to chase your next big adventure.

From travel

I just came back from a one-week trip in South Iceland. The country is very expensive, so I chose a simple way to travel. I rented a 4x4 camper van. It was my small home with a bed and a heater. I could sleep and travel anywhere without booking hotels or eating in restaurants.

The van: I rented it from Extreme Iceland. It cost about €1,000 for one week and about €1,000 for gas.
