India Work Trip? Healthy Cooking in Hotel Rooms is Possible!

Hey everyone! We saw this post from u/LonelyReader95 and it totally sparked an idea – what if we could bring a little bit of that vibrant, adventurous spirit to even the most unexpected situations, like a work trip to India with some specific dietary needs? It's all about embracing the journey, right? Even when your journey involves navigating new cuisines and keeping those triglycerides in check, there's always room for a little sunshine and a whole lot of positivity. We love that the question is about finding solutions and preparing ahead, because that’s the main character energy we’re all about! Let’s dive into how we can make this work trip feel less like a challenge and more like an epic adventure in healthy living.

First off, packing smart is key! Think of your 5-6 kilos of essentials as your personal adventure kit. We’re talking about bringing those non-perishable powerhouses that can fuel you between delicious, healthy meals. Maybe some rolled oats for an energizing breakfast, or some pre-portioned nuts and seeds for those midday boosts. Don't forget to pack some of your favorite spices from home – not the fiery ones, but the ones that bring flavor and joy without the spice! A small, portable electric kettle is a total game-changer, opening up a world of possibilities from instant oatmeal to herbal teas. And for cooking, a mini electric grill or a portable induction cooktop could be your secret weapon for whipping up simple, healthy meals right in your hotel room. Imagine creating your own epic, home-style dishes, making your hotel room feel like your own little haven of deliciousness.

The goal here is to empower you to take control of your health while still embracing the experience of being in India. It’s not about missing out; it’s about finding creative ways to thrive! Think of it as a culinary exploration within your own comfort zone. You can absolutely create satisfying and healthy meals in your hotel room that will make you feel unstoppable. From simple steamed veggies to quick stir-fries with pre-cut ingredients, the energy you put into preparing your food will be matched by the energy you feel throughout your day. This is your chance to be bold, to experiment, and to prove that even with dietary needs, your adventure in India can be filled with glow and good vibes. Let’s make this work trip an absolute win!

From travel

So I changed jobs recently and I'll be travelling a bit to India for work (about 1 month each time, back to Italy for a couple of months, then 1 month again in India). Now regrettably I have health issues with spicy food and I have to keep my triglycerides in check (health reasons). Out of the three times I've been in India I was okay with food only once, the other times I basically was stuck eating plain curd, plain steamed rice, boiled eggs and idli, everything else caused me extreme acid reflux. So when I get back home…
