Indonesia / Lombok Itinerary Questions

Our take

Hey adventurers! Planning your first trip to Indonesia sounds like an epic journey! With a vibrant mix of surfing, snorkeling, and chill beach vibes, you’re set for an unforgettable experience. Gili Air is perfect for relaxation and exploring, while Senaru offers stunning natural beauty. Kuta has its own lively charm, but if you're looking for a unique vibe, West Sumbawa could be a fantastic alternative. Balancing your itinerary between Gili Air and Kuta will ensure you make the most of your time.

First trip to Indonesia. Early 50s active, fit travelers with daughter and friend in early 20s. We enjoy a balance of adventure, snorkling, and chill beach time. Life long surfers- mid lengths/longboards- would love to spend a few days (half days ok) surfing head high waves.

We will be traveling around Bali for about 3 weeks before this leg of our trip. 11 nights total.

Gili Air 4-5 nights

Senaru 2 nghts

Kuta 4-5 nights nights

Checking to see if this sounds good. Should we do Gili Air for 4 and Kuta for 5, or reverse that.... or

How about skip Kuta and stay West Sumbawa ?

For those who have traveled Mexico, I wonder if Kuta Lombok is too much like Sayulita- which isn't my favorite vibe, though we love San Pancho.

Thanks for any pro tips and advice!
