International travel shortly after getting married
Our take
Hey there, adventure-seeker! Congratulations on your upcoming wedding on August 8! With your passport expiring in September and an unexpected work trip on the horizon, it's time to strategize. While it’s tempting to wait for your name change to renew your passport, the timeline might be tight. Processing times for passport renewals can vary, especially after a name change. Consider renewing your passport with your current name to ensure you’re ready for any travel adventures ahead. Let’s navigate this journey together!
My passport expires in September of this year. I’m getting married in August. I was going to wait to renew my passport until after getting married since my name will be changing and I do not have any international travel plans. But I just found out I have a work trip in mid September. What is the likelihood I would get a passport with my new name in time? Or should I delay changing my name and renew my passport as is?
Edit: wedding is 8/8. Travel date in September is still unknown. Country of residence is US
