It’s always a bummer when a trip doesn't go as planned, especially when you're expecting an epic adventure and end up feeling anything but! When we read about this user's experience in Marrakech, our hearts went out to them and their friends. It sounds like their getaway, which should have been filled with sunshine and good vibes, turned into a really tough time. Discovering new places is all about making memories and soaking in the energy, so hearing that their experience was shadowed by catcalling and hurtful comments is just not the vibe we want for anyone.

It’s tough when you're excited to share your culture or explore a new place with your squad, and instead, you encounter negativity. The description of feeling unsafe and unwelcome, especially for the user's friends, is a real downer. We believe that every adventure should be empowering and make you feel like the main character of your own story, not the opposite. Travel is meant to broaden our horizons and connect us, and when that connection turns into discomfort or hostility, it's a huge miss. It’s understandable to feel hurt and confused when a place you have a connection to, or a place you're excited to explore, doesn't live up to the positive energy you're bringing.

While we can't speak to the specifics of every city's current situation, what we do know is that creating a welcoming atmosphere is key for any destination looking to shine. We’re all about embracing boldness and letting our positivity glow, and that should extend to every traveler. It’s a reminder that while exploration is amazing, ensuring everyone feels safe, respected, and celebrated is paramount. Here's to hoping that future journeys are filled with nothing but good energy, genuine connections, and unstoppable adventures for everyone!

I visited Marrakesh last week with two of my friends. I'm Moroccan and they are Chinese. Our experience was the worst and I don't know if this is now normal, or if it's just us..

1- Catcalling: my friend was bothered a lot by random men in the medina, even if she was not alone. they kept giving her weird looks and sometimes they tried to trip her while walking.
