NYC to Paris, Venice, Rome, & Cruise

Our take

Hey r/travel! 🌍✨ I'm excited to share my vibrant honeymoon itinerary that takes you from the charming streets of Paris to the romantic canals of Venice, and finally the historic wonders of Rome, before embarking on an unforgettable cruise! This adventure is packed with epic experiences, from dining by the Eiffel Tower to exploring the stunning Amalfi Coast. Join me as we dive into a world of energy and exploration, perfect for anyone looking to create their own dream journey! Let’s get started! 🚀💖

What a whirlwind of a plan! The author has mapped out a three‑week honeymoon that stitches together the romance of Paris, the labyrinthine charm of Venice, the historic grandeur of Rome, and the laid‑back luxury of a Caribbean cruise. For couples dreaming of a travel adventure that feels both epic and deeply personal, this itinerary is a masterclass in how to combine iconic sights with insider tips. It shows that a well‑structured schedule can turn a honeymoon into a living, breathing story—each city a chapter, each activity a plot twist. If you’re looking for a blueprint that balances the classic tourist must‑sees with off‑the‑beaten‑path experiences, you might also want to skim through “11 Days in Italy - Looking for feedback/suggestions” or “Thoughts on our honeymoon itinerary?” for additional inspiration and reassurance that you’re on the right track.

The first leg of the journey is all about capturing the glow of Paris at every hour. From the early‑morning flight out of JFK to a midnight arrival at Charles de Gaulle, the timing is tight but exhilarating. After a quick check‑in at the Airbnb, the couple dives straight into the city’s culinary scene with a brunch at Le Relais du 15ème, followed by a night‑time river dinner cruise that lights up the Seine. They’ve even planned a visit to the Catacombs at 6 pm—an adventurous detour that adds a dash of mystery to the night. The itinerary’s strength lies in its meticulous use of public transport: the author recommends Citymapper, a $20 RER C round‑trip to Versailles, and 10‑ride passes to keep the movement seamless and the budget in check. By structuring the days around a mix of iconic landmarks (Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Moulin Rouge) and lesser‑known gems (Montmartre food tour, Rue Montorgueil), they create a rhythm that feels both energetic and relaxed, ensuring the couple never feels rushed yet never idle.

Venice is where the romance truly deepens. The author’s two‑day vaporetto pass is a clever hack that saves both time and money while granting the freedom to hop between islands like Murano, Burano, and Torcello. The schedule is packed with sensory delights: glassblowing demonstrations in Murano, a sunset gondola ride, and a carefully curated list of restaurants that blend authenticity with culinary excellence. The inclusion of an Aperol spritz “must have” is a nod to the city’s nightlife vibe, while the strategic placement of the night’s arrival at 11:20 pm allows for a spontaneous stroll along the canals before settling into the Airbnb. Venice’s dense network of canals and bridges means that walking is inevitable, and the itinerary embraces that, turning every stroll into an exploration of hidden courtyards and artisan shops.

Rome brings a historical depth that balances the more playful adventures of Paris and Venice. The itinerary starts with a quiet afternoon at the Jewish Ghetto, seamlessly moving into the bustling energy of the Colosseum underground tour and the Vatican’s artistic treasures. The author even anticipates crowd control by booking the Colosseum tour 30 days in advance—a strategy that underscores the importance of planning when dealing with high‑traffic sites. The culinary stops are peppered with local favorites like Hostaria de' Pastini and the Michelin‑listed Zia Restaurant, offering a spectrum from casual to haute cuisine. The final day’s pivot to a Royal Caribbean cruise adds a splash of sun and sea, completing the narrative arc from old world to new. The author’s advice to bring euros for port transfers and tours is a practical note that often gets overlooked, but it’s the kind of detail that can make or break a honeymoon experience.

Why does this all matter? Because planning a honeymoon is less about ticking boxes and more about crafting a shared journey that feels authentic to the couple’s personalities. The itinerary’s mix of high‑energy activities, cultural immersion, and strategic downtime creates a template that other couples can adapt to their own tastes. It also shows that even the most well‑known cities can feel fresh when approached with a thoughtful schedule and a willingness to explore beyond the brochure. As travel increasingly leans toward sustainability and personalization, this kind of detailed, experience‑centric planning becomes a blueprint for future adventurers. So, the next time you’re dreaming of a honeymoon that feels like a storybook, ask yourself: Are you ready to write your own epic?

......

I can give a lot of suggestions regarding flights, how to book some exlusive tours, for instance the toughest tour to book of the whole trip was the underground colosseum, it opens exactly 30 days ahead at 2:15am est and sells out in less than 60 seconds... Always boom only official tours, theyre way cheaper, more prominent, but bots buy them out instantly to resell 3x

**Montmarte food tour **

- CafĂŠ des Deux Moulins (Amelie filmed here)

- Les Choupettes de ChouChou
