Passport vs Airline Ticket Name Mismatch – US Travel

Our take

Hi everyone! I’m seeking advice on a name mismatch issue with my airline ticket and passport for an upcoming trip to the US. My Indian passport has a blank surname, while my Air India ticket lists my surname as initials and my given name as my full name. I frequently travel domestically and used the same account for booking, which has led to this confusion. Will this discrepancy cause any problems during check-in, immigration, or boarding with Cathay Pacific/Delta Airlines? Thanks for your help! šŸ™

Hi everyone,
I need some guidance regarding name mismatch on flight tickets compared to passport

Passport details:

  • Surname: this is blank
  • Given Name: <myname> <fathername>

Airline ticket (Air India):

  • Surname: <father name initials only>
  • Given Name: <myname>

I am an Indian passport holder and did not expand the name, I travel a lot domestically and while booking I used same account which has led to all the trouble.

Will this cause any issue at check-in, immigration, or boarding with Cathay Pacific/Delta Airlines operated by Virgin for my round trip to the US?

Thanks in advance šŸ™
