Paying for a cruise with gift cards, does travel insurance companies care?

Our take

Are you considering paying for your Disney Cruise with gift cards and wondering how it affects travel insurance? Many travelers have questions about whether using gift cards could complicate claims if unforeseen issues arise. This discussion explores the experiences of those who have successfully navigated insurance claims under similar circumstances, particularly when a significant portion of the trip was purchased with gift cards.

Has anyone ever made a successful claim on thier travel insurance policy where a good portion of thier trip was paid with gift cards? I was thinking about declining the insurance that Disney Cruise Line offers and going with an online provider that would cost less.

But I was wondering if me paying for a good portion of the trip with Disney gift cards could be a problem if I needed to make a claim. And also, when I book the cruise I will pay for it in full as that will be required with a last minute restricted fare. Does that make any difference or not?
