Refund due to hotel renovations.

Our take

If you've recently booked a non-refundable hotel in Destin Beach, Florida, and discovered that the balconies will be closed for renovations, it's understandable to feel frustrated. Since the hotel likely knew about these renovations when you made your reservation through Expedia, you have a reasonable case for seeking a refund. Your best approach is to contact Expedia first, as they can advocate on your behalf, but don't hesitate to reach out to the hotel directly as well for additional support. Good luck!

So I just booked a hotel in Destin Beach Florida two weeks ago through Expedia and it was non-refundable. I just received notice that the balconies will be closed because of renovations. clearly they knew this was going to happen when I booked it two weeks ago.

What are my chances of getting it fully refunded and should I go through Expedia or the hotel?
