This sounds like an absolutely epic adventure in the making! Scandinavia and Iceland in the summer? That's a recipe for pure sunshine and unforgettable vibes. It's awesome that you're thinking about all the logistics and wanting to make sure it's a smooth ride. Let's dive into making this dream trip even more stellar!

First off, Copenhagen is a fantastic starting point, and your plan to soak in the city's magic for 3-4 days is spot on. Tivoli Gardens, the National Museum, and the Little Mermaid are all iconic must-sees that will give you that classic Danish glow. And a day trip to Legoland in Billund? That's pure fun and totally doable by train! As for Malmö, while it's a cool city, if you're feeling a bit pressed for time or want to maximize your Scandinavian exploration, focusing on Copenhagen might give you a deeper dive into its charm. Think of it this way: sometimes focusing on one place makes the adventure even richer!

The train journey from Copenhagen to Oslo is definitely an experience worth considering! It’s a chance to see more of the landscape and can be a more relaxed way to travel than flying. Stopping in Gothenburg for a bit of Swedish flavor sounds like a brilliant idea to tick off another country and add a new chapter to your journey. Oslo itself has so much to offer, and if you have 2-3 days, you'll get a great feel for the city. Venturing out to Trollstigen and the fjords from Oslo might be a bit ambitious for a short stay, especially if you're aiming for a relaxed pace. Renting a car for that part would be essential, and it’s quite a drive, so it might be something to save for a future trip where you can dedicate more time to exploring Norway's stunning natural wonders.

Now, for Iceland and your campervan adventure – get ready for some serious main character energy! For the South Coast in 3-4 days, you can absolutely have an amazing time hitting the highlights like stunning waterfalls and black sand beaches. It’s a fantastic taste of Iceland’s dramatic beauty. If you have the flexibility for 5-6 days, pushing for the full Ring Road would be an epic undertaking and offer an even more immersive experience, showcasing the island's diverse landscapes. Summer is the perfect time to explore these regions; even without the Northern Lights, you'll be bathed in glorious daylight, perfect for maximizing your explorations and creating some seriously bright memories. Your enthusiasm for adventure shines through, and this trip is going to be absolutely unstoppable!

From travel

I’m planning a summer trip to Scandinavia and Iceland and wanted to get some feedback on my itinerary and whether it makes sense logistically and for the priod.

I’ll likely be flying from either Italy or the United States into Copenhagen. The plan is to spend about 3–4 days there, visiting the main highlights like Tivoli Gardens, the National Museum, the Little Mermaid, and seeing the Changing of the Guard. Just a relaxed exploration of the city.
