Scotland: How realistic is this itinerary?

Our take

Hey everyone! I'm diving into planning my honeymoon in Scotland and could really use your insights. I've heard that driving times on Google Maps might be a bit optimistic, so I made sure to build in extra transit time for exploring on travel days. Here’s my itinerary: starting in Edinburgh, then heading to the Isle of Skye, followed by the Orkney Islands, and finally Inverness and the Cairngorms National Park before wrapping up in London.

Hi everyone! I’m starting planning my honeymoon in Scotland and wanted some advice. I’ve heard that whatever the google maps driving time is, I should probably double it in Scotland. I’ve tried to give myself plenty of transit time to see and explore on travel days. Does this look realistic or will I be missing a lot in these locations?

Day 1: home to Edinburgh (flight & train)

Day 2-5: Edinburgh

Day 6: rent car and travel to Isle of Skye

Day 7/8: Isle of Skye

Day 9: drive to Orkney Islands

Day 10/11: Orkney Islands

Day 12: drive to Inverness, explore city and maybe surrounding areas

Day 13: Cairngorms NP

Day 14: Tavel to London

Day 15: travel home
