Solo Trip Spain/Portugal Itinerary – Thoughts
Our take
Hey, fellow adventurers! I’m excited to share my solo trip itinerary for Spain and Portugal, and I’d love your feedback on whether it feels balanced or too rushed. I’ll kick things off in vibrant Barcelona for four nights, then zip over to the lively Madrid for two nights. After a quick flight to Lisbon, I’ll soak up the sun for three nights before heading to the beautiful Lagos for another three nights.
Would love feedback on whether the plan feels balanced or still rushed. Would you change the number of nights in any city, or swap something out?
Itinerary:
- May 21–25: Barcelona (4 nights) Arrive evening May 21
- May 25: Barcelona → Madrid Train (high-speed)
- May 25–28: Madrid (2 nights)
- May 28: Madrid → Lisbon Flight
- May 28–31: Lisbon (3 nights)
- May 31: Lisbon → Lagos Bus
- June 01–June 4: Lagos (3 nights)
- June 4: Fly out Faro (7AM)

- Spain vs Spain + Portugal (15 days, mid-June) — itinerary feedback?Hi, I’ve been reading past threads, but I’m still unsure how to structure this trip and would really appreciate some feedback. Trip details: ~15 days total (mid-June, somewhat flexible) Flying from the US (likely into Barcelona, out of Lisbon) Budget: mid-range (mix of hotels + occasional nicer stays) Interests: food, walkable cities, history, some architecture, not big on rushing or checking boxes What I’ve researched so far: I came up with two rough options: Option A (Spain only): Barcelona (4 days) Madrid (3 days) Seville (3–4 days) Granada (2 days) Option B (Spain + Portugal): Barcelona (3–4 days) Seville (3 days) Lisbon (3 days) Porto (2–3 days) My questions: Does Option B feel too rushed given the travel time between Spain and Portugal? If sticking to Spain, would you prioritize Granada over somewhere like Valencia or more time in Madrid? Any adjustments you’d make to improve pacing? submitted by /u/Existential_boba9352 [link] [comments]
- Feedback on itinerary to Spain and Portugal (Sept-Oct)Hey everyone. I was preliminarily planning a vacation for my wife and I to Spain/Portugal this fall and wanted to get some feedback as I’ve never been to Europe. Thursday Sept 24th Flight to Seville arriving Friday Friday - Arrive in Seville explore the town Saturday - Comtimue Exploring Sunday -> Transfer to Quartiera, relaxing beach afternoon Monday -> Golf, relax on beach, explore marina area Tuesday -> Transfer to Lagos, boat tour, walk around town Wednesday -> Transfer to Lisbon explore Thursday and Friday in Lisbon (day trip to Sintra) Saturday -> transfer to Porto explore town Sunday -> in Porto Monday -> go home. I fear this may be too many stops. My alternatives are flying in a day earlier and adding a night to Lagos so that I have at least 2 nights everywhere. Or cutting Seville entirely and transferring to quarteria upon arrival, adding a night in Lagos and Porto. Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions? submitted by /u/Emotional-Loss-9852 [link] [comments]
- Itinerary Advice - Spain/PortugalHey everyone, Wondering what you all think of the following. I have 8 days to spend in mid/late June in Spain/Portugal and the 3 places/cities that we (my wife and I) are most interested in are San Sebastian, Porto, and Lisbon. I'm thinking it'll probably be rushed if we do all 3 in that amount of time, so I'm looking to narrow it down to 2 of the 3, but am having trouble. We're in our early 30s and enjoy a ton of different things including: food - restaurants/bars/coffee shops, culture/sightseeing, walking around cities, beaches, hiking/nature, night life and more. Any and all thoughts and or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! submitted by /u/BonsaiCrazed13 [link] [comments]
- 8 Days in Portugal Itinerary Feedback (Lisbon, Porto, Coimbra, Nazare, Douro)Hi everyone! My family and I are travelling to Portugal next month, and I’d love some feedback on our itinerary. We don’t mind fast-paced travel, but I want to make sure we’re not rushing too much or missing anything major. Day 1: Arrive in Lisbon early morning Day 2: Explore Lisbon Day 3: Sintra day trip Day 4: Day trip to Nazare + Obidos (possibly Fatima too) — debating between renting a car or doing a guided tour Day 5: Travel to Coimbra (not sure whether to stay overnight or continue to Porto the same evening) Day 6: Porto Day 7: Douro Valley day trip Day 8: More time in Porto, then evening train to Lisbon for next morning’s flight Does this feel too rushed for 8 full days? Would you recommend renting a car for Nazare/Obidos, or is a guided tour easier? Is Coimbra worth an overnight stay, or would you spend the extra time in Porto instead? submitted by /u/SnooDonuts3819 [link] [comments]
