Get ready for an epic Swiss adventure that’s going to be an absolute glow-up for your solo European journey! Four days might sound like just a quick stop, but trust us, focusing on one region is the *main character* move to make. Switzerland is packed with pure magic, and we’re here to help you craft a dream itinerary that’s all about energy, exploration, and of course, chocolate! Let’s dive into how to make those 13th to 16th of August days absolutely unforgettable.

First off, let's talk about that Sunday question. While it’s true that some shops and smaller businesses might be closed on Sundays, it’s definitely *not* a reason to skip Switzerland! Think of it as a chance for a different kind of adventure. Many museums, scenic train routes, and outdoor activities are still buzzing with energy on Sundays. Plus, if you’re craving a change of scenery, a scenic train ride to France is a fantastic option and a super easy way to experience another country without any driving stress. So, whether you embrace the quieter Sunday vibe in Switzerland or hop on a train, it’s all about making the most of your time!

Now, for that hot air balloon dream – how exciting! While summer can be a bit trickier for balloon flights due to weather, it’s absolutely not impossible. The Swiss Alps offer some of the most breathtaking views from above, and chasing that dream is totally within reach. Regions like Interlaken or the Bernese Oberland are stunning and often have companies offering these incredible experiences. It’s worth doing some research on specific operators in those areas and booking in advance to secure your spot in the sky. Imagine floating over those majestic peaks, bathed in sunshine – pure adventure! Even if the balloon ride doesn't perfectly align, Switzerland's train system will still deliver epic views as you journey through the landscape, so you're guaranteed an adventure no matter what.

Basel is a fantastic choice, especially with its renowned chocolate-making scene, and it’s a great hub to start from. But remember, your trip is about embracing the unexpected and creating your own story. This journey is your chance to be bold, to explore, and to create memories that will make you feel unstoppable. So, pack your bags, bring your biggest smile, and get ready for an adventure that’s as sweet as Swiss chocolate and as breathtaking as the Alps themselves! Your solo journey is going to be an epic highlight of your European travels, filled with sunshine, positive energy, and the spirit of adventure.

I am travelling solo in Europe later this year and only have 4 days that I can spend in Switzerland, between 13 - 16 Aug. I appreciate that I can't see all of Switzerland in that time, so I figured I would focus on one region and truly appreciate that. I have been advised that Basel is wonderful and I can do a chocolate making course there, but nothing has been booked yet so I can change that if necessary.

I have a couple of questions that I am struggling to answer. Please help!
