What alterations can I make to this thrifted prom dress to make it feel more cohesive?

Our take

Are you ready to transform your thrifted prom dress into a cohesive masterpiece? It sounds like you're on the right track, but let’s explore some exciting options! While adding a beaded band pattern around the hem could enhance the dress's charm, it’s important to consider potential snags. Alternatively, lining the bottom with a similar lace could beautifully tie in the bodice, although it might not solve the horizontal stripe dilemma. Don’t worry—let’s brainstorm more creative ideas to make this dress truly shine!

I Thrifted this dress and my guess is that it’s from the 2000s but the horizontal stripes feel out of place but I can’t take it off without ruining the whole dress.

A) do the beaded band pattern all around the bottom hem of the dress ( the bead pattern might get caught on things)

B) find a similar lace that’s on the bodice and line it around the bottom and let it follow up and down the slit (might make the horizontal stripes feel more out of place)

DESPERATELY looking for other ideas
