What are some high quality travel guides/books for planning a Thailand trip?

Our take

Planning a trip to Thailand is an exciting adventure, and having the right travel guide can make all the difference! While the latest edition of Lonely Planet's Thailand book has received mixed reviews, there are plenty of other high-quality travel guides to consider. Whether you're looking for in-depth cultural insights, practical tips, or stunning visuals to inspire your journey, options like "The Rough Guide to Thailand" and "Fodor's Thailand" may offer the vibrant and engaging perspectives you’re seeking.

Me and my partner are thinking of travelling to Thailand next winter and are in the starting phase of the planning. I've been to Sout-East Asia a couple of times with my parents and Lonely Planet has always been our main guide.

However, the newest edition (19ed) of their Thailand book has gotten a bad reviews on multiple platforms, and the previous edition is from 2021.

Are there any other books or guides similar to the old Lonely Planet books for Thailand?
