Made to Measure

| This is my first post here, so please keep that in mind as I navigate this group's culture. Recently, I had the blessing to travel to Vietnam, and one of the places we visited was Hoi An. Hoi An is well known for its tailor-made clothing, and you can find high-quality natural fabrics there. I'm obsessed with the Morton Mac label, and when they released this dress, I just had to have it. Nevertheless, I thought it was a perfect excuse to get some pieces made in Vietnam. I went to a tailor in Hoi An and had them make a few items, including a rendition of this dress. I didn't want the dress to be 100% exactly like the original, as I respect people's creative genius, so I asked for some changes. Now, I really want to find a good tailor around where I live so I can commission a few pieces. Having clothes that are made for your body is an indescribable feeling. The last person who made clothing to my measurements was my grandma, may she rest in peace. Such an Art that I took for granted. [link] [comments] |
