Married cpl w/10k anywhere in the world from 2 weeks up to a month?

We are a couple of relatively fit, 55 yrs old. 1 has traveled a lot m, the other only Iceland/greenland. We’ve both been grieving, settling complex estates, selling deceased parents home and under great duress for 4+ months. We estimate we can “sorta” afford 10k (all in, airfare, lodging, food, additional expenses). Window for leaving could be anywhere from June to December. We definitely need at least two weeks. I’m struggling with planning this decision for a bunch of reasons. We have no idea when we will have this opportunity again, if ever. I’ve been all over Europe many times but my husband has never seen Italy (my favorite country. In Europe). But neither of us has ever been to Asia or Africa. We are really not typical tourists. We are also not backpackers inclined to stay in hostels. Given these parameters, where do you world travelers think we could get the most time, cultural experience, great food, and good lodging etc., with this $$? And I’d be thrilled to hear your reasons. Also, we are cool with multiple locations in a similar area if costs are factored in?
