Is it cruel to clip a chickens wings

We just got a japenese bantum and she can fly like really high. We’ve raised bantums in the past but this girl can fly 100% over the wall. We have also found out a sparrow hawk got one so any advice on that would also be useful. If we trim down her wings will this cause her issues? There all free range and we can’t raise the walls due to them being brick.
