Beach Trip Ideas
Our take
Hey adventure seekers! If you’re on the hunt for some epic beach trip ideas near North Carolina or South Carolina, you’re in the right place! You want a spot that's drivable with walkable attractions, so you can soak up the sun without spending all your time on the road. While Myrtle Beach is off the table, consider exploring charming spots like Folly Beach or Wrightsville Beach, both packed with vibrant local attractions. Grab your squad, and let’s make some unforgettable memories by the shore!
Hey, looking for some recommendations for some good beaches somewhat near NC/SC. I have a few friends Im going with so we'd like somewhere drivable but flying isn't off the table if it's a good recommendation. But somewhere that has walkable attractions so we dont have to drive 100% of the time/spend the entire time driving. (especially with the price of gas 💀) The only place we don't really want to go to is Myrtle.
Some places that aren't off the table but places that we've been too:
- Charleston, SC
- Oak Island, NC
- Holden, NC

- East Coast Beach TripLooking for recommendations for a weekend trip on the East Coast! We’re considering North Myrtle Beach or Topsail Island. There are four of us in our early 20s (recent grads on a budget), and we’re hoping to stay for about 3 days. Ideally, we’d love an oceanfront place, but we’re totally fine with up to a ~10-minute walk to the beach. Our budget is around $1,300 total for the weekend. We’ve been checking Airbnb but haven’t had much luck so far, so if anyone has suggestions for good areas, specific rentals, or even other beach towns with affordable options, please let me know! submitted by /u/Flower-Sunshine-708 [link] [comments]
- Family Vacation Ideas (help!) - East Coast Summer 2027Hello! My extended family vacations together every other year and it's almost time to present ideas for next year. We are a pretty large group and I feel like I am struggling with finding a location that fits everyone's needs. Previously we have been to Ocean Isle (NC), Orlando (FL), and the Badlands (SD). Would anyone have any suggestions? Here are the guidelines I am trying to follow: Within 8 or 9 hour driving distance from Greensboro, NC Most of the family lives in NC and we have done beaches a lot, always open to another beach year but am trying to think outside the box! Budget to mid level price range (Previously spent $1,200 per family to go in on AirBnBs) 18 people - Family 1 (2 adults), Family 2 (2 adults), Family 3 (2 adults but would ideally want two separate bedrooms), Family 4 (2 adults and 2 kids), Family 5 (2 adults and 2 kids), Family 6 (2 adults and 2 kids), Family 7 (2 adults) - So if we did an AirBnb we would ideally need 8 or 9 bedrooms! Most of the kids are elementary aged, one toddler (age 3) and one baby (1 yr) I am tempted to do a hotel or rentals in the same condo unit since the family is getting so large so that's an option as well! Thank you in advance for suggestions I am really struggling!! submitted by /u/Unusual_Patience_677 [link] [comments]
