Help me choose: Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Mauritius, or Panama for a 10-day beach getaway in early May?
Our take
Hey, adventure seekers! đ´ Iâm planning a 10-day beach getaway in early May and need your help choosing between four stunning destinations: Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic (SamanĂĄ/BayahĂbe), Mauritius, and Panama. My dream trip includes paradise beaches with crystal-clear waters, guaranteed sunshine, affordable local dining, and a safe, relaxed vibe for ultimate disconnection. If youâve got insights on which destination offers the best restorative experience, or if you know any hidden gems, Iâd love to hear your thoughts! Thank you!
Hi everyone!
Iâm planning a 10-day trip for the first week of May and Iâm torn between four destinations: Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic (specifically SamanĂĄ/BayahĂbe), Mauritius, and Panama (feel free to leave any other suggestion)
Iâll be traveling from Europe and Iâm looking for a truly "restorative" stay. Iâm looking for:
- Paradise Beaches: I want clear, clean, and beautiful water.
- Weather: This is my main concern. I want to avoid rainy seasons or bad weather at all costs. Iâm looking for guaranteed sun.
- Budget (Local): Iâd like a place where eating out and local services aren't gougingly expensive. I want to eat well without breaking the bank every single day.
- Safety & Vibe: Safety is a priority. Iâm looking for a relaxed, safe environment where I can truly disconnect
Based on these points, which one would you pick for a 10-day "recharge" trip? Are there any hidden gems in these spots that fit the "paradise yet affordable" criteria?
Thank you so much!

- June trip - Jamaica or DRHi everyone :) Just looking for any advice or suggestions- me and my boyfriend are looking to go on our first holiday together in June. The locations weâve narrowed it down to are Jamaica & Dominican Republic. Weâd be going for 7 days and interested in a few light fun activities maybe like cliff dives and seeing waterfalls that kind of thing but mainly relaxation & a romantic setting He enjoys seeing the local towns too and authenticity If anyone has any recommendations they would be much appreciated, Iâm quite stuck between the 2 options! - 2 weeks in August - help me chooseHello! :) My partner and I are planning a 2-week holiday (starting July 26) and I've been going back and forth for weeks now regarding this. We're a couple looking for a mix of beach & relaxation, some exploration and culture, good food, and decent nightlife. We loved Madeira, also Mallorca was very nice. Here are the three options we're considering: Canary Islands (Gran Canaria 5 nights + Tenerife 5 nights) Greek Islands (Paros + another island, maybe Milos?) Greek Islands (Paros) + South of France (Nice as a base) Budget is also important, and would categorize it as moderate. We are open to other suggestions too, of course. We thought about Croatia, like a road trip or a lot of other combinations, but we are still undecided. We would really appreciate some help. Thank you! submitted by /u/AndreeaSto [link] [comments]
