Help me choose the final destination of my "euro-trip": Lisboa/Algarve vs French Riviera vs Albania
Our take
I'll be in this final destination from August 5th until the morning or mid-day of August 9th.
I don't even know what my expectations are, it'll be the final days of a month-long solo Eurotrip.
Regarding the "french riviera" alternative: my plan would be to spend a day in Nice and surroundings towns like Eze, then spend a day in Cannes, a day close to Saint Tropez, and the final day in Montpellier.
I could consider other alternatives like Slovenia or the Canary Islands, but I think they are more inconvenient for me.
Probably, I won't rent a car because -despite the fact I'm 30 years old- my license will be only 9 months old. Most rental companies expect you to have had your license over a year, in case of an accident they will check this out and, once they find this out, they will deny all insurance. Prior to this final destination, I will rent a car in Spain with the rental company "Sixt", which welcomes new drivers, at a cost obviously. Renting another car would be very expensive.
Anyways: where should I spend these final days? I'm very lost and even tired of planning lol. I had previously considered visiting Sardinia, but had to change plans because I could have issues renting a car there.

- Nice/ Cote d'Azur, Barcelona/Costa Brava or Malaga/Costa del Sol. What's the best ending for a eurotrip in the summer?I'm going to travel to Europe for the FRIST time this summer. Itinerary so far is: Amsterdam 22/6-26/4 Belgium 26/6-28/6 Paris 28/6-2/7 London 3/7-7/7 But i'm don't know the last one. I'm planning to come back in 10/7, and the places i'd like to visit the most are Nice/ Cote d'Azur, Barcelona/Costa Brava or Malaga/Costa del Sol. I'm traveling solo and want to have a summer/beachy experience but also to stay at a nice city. So, whats the best ending? submitted by /u/HeyHolaOi [link] [comments]
- Southern Italy, southern France, and the Mediterranean islands: how should I organize these itineraries?Hello! I’m Brazilian and I plan to dedicate 15 to 25 vacation days per year to enjoy the European summer (between June and September). Two itineraries I’ve been considering are the following: SOUTHERN ITALY + ISLANDS *Rome 🚪 *Amalfi Coast *Capri *Puglia *Sardinia 🏝️ *Sicily 🏝️ *Malta 🏝️ SOUTH OF FRANCE + ISLAND *Paris 🚪 *Monaco *Nice *Cannes *Saint-Tropez *Antibes *Provence / Marseille / Cassis *Corsica 🏝️ My question is: OPTION 1: Should I take 25 days per year and do both full itineraries (one each year)? Is there enough time or is it too rushed? OPTION 2: - do only Southern Italy now; - go only to the South of France next year; - leave the Mediterranean islands (Corsica + Sardinia + Sicily + Malta) for a third trip. OPTION 3: - do only Southern Italy now; - go to the South of France + Corsica next year; - leave Sardinia + Sicily + Malta for a third trip. OPTION 4: - do Southern Italy + Sardinia now; - go to the South of France + Corsica next year; - leave Sicily + Malta for a third trip. OPTION 5: - do Southern Italy + Sicily + Malta now; - go to the South of France + Corsica + Sardinia next year. In short: how would you split these destinations, knowing that I have up to 25 days for each trip? The budget isn't an issue. My only concern is the logistics of the itineraries, taking into account the time available for each trip. submitted by /u/TraditionalStar8718 [link] [comments]
- Advice needed - Itinerary French RivieraHi everyone! I’m planning a trip to the South of France for late June/early July and would love some advice. Ideally I’d rent a car so I can move freely along the coast and stop in different towns. I may be going solo, as some friends are hesitant. What I’m looking for: Beautiful beaches (lots of them) Walkable towns with scenic views Some history/cultural visits Safe for a solo traveler Relaxing, peaceful overall vibe I’ve never been to France before. I’ve heard mixed opinions on Marseille for solo travel, so I’m unsure whether to include it. If I rent a car, I’d love to do a continuous coastal route with nice stops along the way. I'm even thinking of landing in Paris and taking a car from there... Thoughts? Open to any recommendations for towns, itineraries, do's and dont's, or just hearing about your experience! Thank you in advance :) EDIT: I'm also open to picking a base and taking the train/bus to different areas! I realized that's what most people do. submitted by /u/Mundane-Macaron-8942 [link] [comments]
